Harare – In terms of section 53 (1) of the Electoral Act [chapter 2:13], a polling station shall be open continuously from 7am -7pm on a polling day. There is however an exception to this general rule, For a good cause, if the constituency elections officer determines that it is not possible to open a polling station at 7:00 am, he/she shall fix such later opening time as will enable him/her to keep the polling station open for at least 12 hours continuously on a polling day.
