Munangati and Associates

CELEBRATING TWENTY YEARS OF SERVICE BY OUR GENERAL MANAGER, SITHEMBILE GUMBO.

With a vigorous passion for seeing to it that individual’s legal problems are solved, and a determination to find growth and advancement, Sithembile Gumbo (Thembi) joined the law firm at a very young age in 2004 under the founder, Justice NP Munangati-Manongwa. She was employed as a legal secretary.

Thembi quickly found her niche in the legal spectrum as a conveyancing clerk. Her main roles were to assist in typing details forwarded to her, assisting in due diligence, and filing deed-related documents with the Registry. Working with the likes of Advocate Thabani Mpofu (when he was a student), Thembi became a leading light in the area of conveyancing. Thembi also worked with the now Head of Sheriff Services, Gamuchirai Siwadi, and a couple of lawyers who are now legal minds of renown and part of the judiciary. She further worked with Vimbayi Brenda Manikai, who was then coming from Old Mutual with vast knowledge of the corporate world and estate administration.  In 2018, Thembi was left under the wing of the now Senior Partner, Sikhumbuzo Mpofu who had, at a very young age; acquired the firm and was eager to see it grow. Together, the two have managed to grow an outstanding conveyancing portfolio.

“I have always been and remain excited about the law firm’s values and its dedication to solving clients’ problems. Being a good problem solver is essential because clients value legal practitioners who can work through their challenges, no matter how difficult the problems are. It is therefore my desire to remain aligned with such a goal-oriented organization that places clients first.”

With the assistance of the partners, Thembi, as the conveyancing torchbearer in the firm, has passed on her knowledge to many juniors of the law firm, including the author of this article.  Thembi has since been promoted to general manager of the law firm and oversees the day-to-day running of the firm.

When asked about why she has remained at the law firm for so long, Thembi said, “I have always been and remain excited about the law firm’s values and its dedication to solving clients’ problems. Being a good problem solver is essential because clients value legal practitioners who can work through their challenges, no matter how difficult the problems are. It is therefore my desire to remain aligned with such a goal-oriented organization that places clients first.”

Thembi, as she is called; with her unwavering loyalty and dedication to the law firm, remains an inspiration to all.
